Our Curriculum

Our program in BABYLAND nursery “begins to grow”


Our nursery program explains how and what your child will be learning to give them a firm foundation for a successful start at school. Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of Learning and Development.

Of these, children usually develop the 3 Prime Areas first.
These are:


·  Communication and Language

·  Physical Development

·  Personal, Social and Emotional Development

As children grow these Prime Areas will help them to develop skills in the 4 Specific Areas:

·  Literacy

·  Mathematics

·  Understanding the world

·  Expressive arts and design

These 7 areas are used to plan your child’s learning.


At BABYLAND we use a fun, play based approach to supporting learning and development in the early years. Learning is guided by exceptional staff that skillfully supports children’s learning and development through effective teaching. Each child’s learning and development is recorded and celebrated through a unique BABYLAND Learning curriculum.

Germination nursery ”begins to grow” The indoor and outdoor classrooms are planned and resourced thoroughly and carefully, to inspire the children’s imagination. Giving them learning and play opportunities – just the way they like it! Babies (3 – 14 monthes) For babies, we have created a comfortable, warm, homely and cozy environment. The small team of staff build a strong bond with you and your baby to ensure that baby’s every need is anticipated and met. Matching the care and routine of home. Your baby’s day will include lots of cuddles, songs, books, comfortable sleep, walks and time outdoors for fresh air and time to play with new friends and favorite things… Toddlers (14 months – 2.5 years) Once the children have found their feet, there’s just no stopping them! We give your toddler equipment to meet their developing curiosity, an environment that gives them opportunities to experiment, discover and challenge. Our caring team nurture, encourage and support this vigorous group. The toddler’s day includes a healthy balance of free-play time – individually and in groups – and dedicated time with adults, which includes early use of books, mark-making, singing and creative play as well as encouraging physical development and social interaction and sharing with new friends. Pre-school (2.5 – 4 years) When your child reaches their 30 months they will join the pre-school. This key stage of learning is carefully planned within the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and gives lots of opportunities for learning through adult and child initiated activities. We ensure that every area of your child’s development is monitored and encouraged, to prepare them for school. The pre-school day includes group and individual time for numeracy and literacy development, lots of free-play indoors and out, encouraging your child to develop pre-reading and pre-writing skills and to learn through their choices. Led by our qualified teachers we ensure that every child is supported in developing their confidence, skills and abilities in their preferred way to meet their individual needs and grow their self-esteem.
